I don't remember anyone offering me tea.
You mean she wasn't welcome there either? -
The greatest danger Hillary has faced was the time she nearly was sucked into a shredder while destroying incriminating Rose Law Firm documents. Fortunately for her, Janet Reno was standing nearby, grabbed John Kerry's voluminous Dishonorable Discharge summary then used it to jam the machine in the nick of time. Hillary and Kerry off the hook part way with one swift (er, make that Swift) file folder's destruction by Cover(up) Girl Janet!
The only other time she theoretically was at high risk (as the saying goes) was when Billy nearly gave her that social disease, by proxy, after an orgiastic weekend among Hollywood friends shortly after selling them some overpriced coffee. That's assuming Billy has genuinely ever been closer to Hillary than has Web Hubbell; an assumption which I certainly won't make. Not on a full stomach, at least....
Happy New Year to all (even to the Clinton's true believers many of whom seem scruffier and more dazed nowadays than Saddam when finally pulled out of his underground outpost). -
Hillary and Sinbad on a diplamtic adventure misison to Bosnia? Wow, does that sound like a terrible straight-to-video buddy-action comedy.
-
A fake war hero. THAT's what the Dems were missing this time around...
-
And yet, sadly enough, she appears to be the best her party has to offer. All the other Democrats are empty suits or populist buffoons. The really scary thing to contemplate is that one of them could be elected president.
-
She is not the best her party has to offer, she is the best they are offering. There is Zell Miller and others. You are correct, in the Dim party the buffoons rise to the top, the better ones sink to the bottom. SEW

Sheryl Crow? I certainly hope Hillary had the plane well-stocked with toilet paper...

yeah; gives a new meaning to the expression "three sheets to the wind."
-
It seems that just like her husband, Hillary is a pathological liar, lying even when it does her no good.
Hillary can, IMO, claim her status as co-president represents some level of experience for the presidency. She was obviously not a normal first lady.
But the problem with this vein of self promotion is what she accomplished, or did not in that role. The record includes failure (HillaryCare) and scandal (FBI files) and not much else. -
Thanks for the laugh, Skipper. Been a long day and I needed it. The only threat she faced over there was from the drinking water and the chow. Of course her stomach is likely similar to disposition and is therefore like Cast Iron…she was probably unaffected...

Ed,
I was part of Task Force Eagle in Bosnia during that time. I was part of then MG William Nash, 1st Armored Division, security detail. I take two issues with her statement. First and most blatantly checkable, was the year she states. She's a year off. It was actually March 1996. We didn't go into Bosnia until after the signing of the Dayton Peace Accords, which was in the Fall of 1995, (November, I think). I remember it because it ruined Christmas for just about the entire 2nd Brigade, 1st AD, in Baumholder Germany. Then President Clinton actually came to Baumholder right before Christmas to make a speech. It should be easily checkable.
Secondly, she landed at Eagle Base in Tuzla, Bosnia in a C-17. At that time, it was the most secure location in country, being an old Russian MIG base. The compound was very well fortified and snipers weren't an issue for us. They never were during the entire mission, except maybe in Sarajevo. Our biggest issue was landmines, again, not an issue at Eagle Base as it had been very well cleared.
Shameless self promotion is just stupid when things like that are so easily verifiable. -
Quick check of the old search engine gives us this

General Joulwan, General Nash, General Crouch, Secretary West. A special word of greeting to America's good friend Chancellor Kohl, who has been a wonderful partner to our country, with great thanks to Germany for their partnership with this fine unit.
I am immensely proud to be here today with the men and women of the 1st Armored Division. You truly are America's Iron Soldiers. Previous generations of Iron Soldiers have answered our Nation's call with legendary skill and bravery. Each time before, it was a call to war. From North Africa to Italy, they helped freedom triumph over tyranny in World War II. Then for 20 years, their powerful presence here stood down the Soviet threat and helped to bring victory in the cold war.

Good enough to get the link you were referring to across so I could go look at it.. With respect to tags, we are only allowed the following:
italic
boldparagraph
blockquote
note: you need a paragraph tag after a blockquote, otherwise the blockquote's style continues to be used for some strange reason.
and, last but not least,
anchor
Note that we don't get strikethrough, subscript, superscript, font, or any block tags such as div or span or iframe (since we can use those to subvert security or destroy the formatting of the blog).
And, last but not least, the image size you must use to generate your avatar is for some strange reason 128x128 (even though your avatar will be 32x32). -
In any event Clinton made his speech there on Dec 2, 1995 in front of the troops.
-
"...risked her life on White House missions in the 1990s.."
Did it involve a cape and mask?
Stupid lying cow. -
I've had hair-raising events too. Well, ok, it was simply watching Carrie but the ending sure scared me. I guess I can be president too, now.
-
"Never let the truth spoil a good story." Is that a description of Hillary and Bill or the family slogan?
-
And the press will give Hillary a free pass on this whopper, too.
-
Hillary! heh And GWB didnt use this "National Asset" for say, covert misssions to Turkmenistan? C'mon , anyone really believe this woman? Is this the best that the Party of my Grandfather can do???
-
Why didn't she mention this in her book? Because it didn't happen. If it had, we would have heard about it in the news at the time. She is shameless and will do anything to get elected. Makes one very afraid of what she would do if she is elected.
-
What is it exactly that she said? That they had a rough landing and had to run off the tarmac with their heads down. I'll bet that is the protocal in any situation in which you have a first lady in a war zone. She did not claim to be dodging bullets or carrying an AK-47. You guys are trying to blow this up into a bigger story. She was responding to the fact that Obama had accused her of sitting around drinking tea all the time she was in the WHite House.
Y'all need to make up your minds. In the 1990's she was accused of being the bitch who secretly ran the country. Now you want to claim she was another Laura Bush eating bon bons by the fire. You can not have it both ways. -
The point she's trying to make (horribly I might add) is that she participated significantly in the Clinton Administration as an ambassador of sorts sent on dangerous and important missions. The point her critics are making just now is that she's once again fabricating a narrative to give her political bona fides.
This is a lot worse than the Sir Edmund Hillary canard she grafted onto the American people a few years ago. Here she's trying to dupe the electorate into believing she's made of Presidential timber. She's clearly not and I'm not sure what bothers me most, that she would try to dupe us so obviously or that she thinks she can get that whopper passed through without criticism.
I don't like any of the Dem candidates but I'd suffer through two Obama terms than a single Hillary 'moment.' -
We're not claiming anything other than that she's lying about her experience, which she clearly is.
Treat yourself to the relevant quotation from Hillary's book, "Living History," in which she describes just how dangerous the situation truly was. It's posted at Sweetness and Light. -
Teresa, you just claimed to be an Obama supporter so I would think you would be happy that Obama had the gusto to call out Hillary as the tea-sipping first lady that she was. Or are you saying that YOUR candidate lied about her?
-
In the words of Hillary Clinton,
We used to say in the White House that if a place is too dangerous, too small or too poor, send the First Lady.
We landed in one of those cork screw landings and ran out because they said there might be sniper fire – I don’t remember them offering me tea on the tarmac.
The above two quotes are in response to one from Barack Obama:
It’s that experience, that understanding, not just of what world leaders I went and talked to in the ambassador’s house I had tea with, but understanding the lives of the people like my grandmother who lives in a tiny hut in Africa.
Barack could have tea with more august company [having tea with the ambassador's house rather than the ambassador is pretty sad]. Barack could also move his grandmother out of that tiny hut. Why doesn't he?
-
Well I remember that the president in the Clinton era was referred to a Billary, she appeared to be the cunning behind the Clintons.
-
"Experience" to Hillary seemingly means watching somebody else do it. I don't see, offhand, how that translates into anything. Nonetheless, and for good or ill, Hillary did sit next to the President considerably more than did any of the other candidates. Some of it may have rubbed off on her.
However, she does need to dial back on the supposed eight years of experience. When Bill's bimbo scandals really started hitting the press, I doubt seriously that she and Bill were discussing much of anything, much less national policy. Perhaps she should scale her claim back to, say, four years of experience? -
I flew a redeye from LA to Boston one night and there was so much turbulence the flight attendants didn't even try beverage service. But that doesn't qualify me to be President.
I guess the idea here is we're supposed to believe Hillary has guts. Well, we already knew that. It takes guts to go on national TV and tell the world that the rumors about your husband's affair with a White House intern are false and part of a vast right-wing conspiracy.
It's just unfortunate she's expended so much of her courage in support of her husband's career, not as an ambassador for America's interests abroad but as an enabler for his philandering at home. -
But talking to her base, you've gotta admit the story sounded too good to pass by, though.
Why does this have the ring of a certain party candidate and some Christmas story in a foreign land? -
Please don't allow water anywhere near this Witch until she secures the nomination!
As far as lying, it is a Rat qualification of the highest order, after all the media water carriers marvel at the ease with which Monicas' boyfriend was able to lie effortlessly.
Fortunately for us the Witch hasn't the ability of Monicas boyfriend to make 1/2 of the American people like being told a pack of lies.
Unfortunately 1/2 of the American people could care a less they just want the presents Herself has put under the tree for them.
Chrissy Mathews, Georgy Siffalous, and the other Clintoon lackeys in the MSM will carry the water for Herself no matter how large the Lie. It's the new medias job to make sure ample amounts of it get spilled on the witch so that we may get to see her meltdown. I've got the popcorn made , Bring Her On. If she does win the election she will irrevocably damage the Rat party if Nancy and Harry don't do so before her. -
Proof that you are completely unaware of how the MSM feels about Clinton. Study after study shows she gets the most negative press of all the candidates.
And Chris Matthews has a man crush on Rudy. He hates Clinton and will tell you so ad nauseum every night on Hardball. -
Study after study shows she gets the most negative press of all the candidates.
Study after study, eh? Post two. -
Teresa
We're waiting. Post two-conducted by liberals or otherwise. -
Just take a trip over to Media Matters...that is the broken record they keep on a continuous loop
