If the evangelicals rule in SC, then the Huckster will win, not Fred. That will still help stop McCain, though. Then if Mitt wins tomorrow in MI, we have to look to FL, Rudy's only chance (by dint of bad planning). Should be a much more interesting winter.

But if McCain can win in SC, even if Mitt takes MI (his native state), McCain may be unstoppable on Super Tuesday. Nobody except maybe Mitt has the money to campaign in all those states, and familiarity trumps everything else.

Don't blame me; I wouldn't have designed such a stupid system.

The Economist didn't bother to mention him in their primary analysis either. But then, they spent barely 2 pages on the Republican race (as opposed to several articles on Barack vs. Hillary) and most of that was about how it's McCain's race to lose, so I don't think they paid much attention to begin with.

Oh, wait, found one sentence, about how Thompson fell asleep at the wheel after initial publicity. Yeah, that really counts as analysis.

Then you haven't heard the M. Levine interview. Fred pounded both McCain & Hucklebee. Given McCain's temper, there's no way John would forgive Fred. Either you have to believe Fred's message, or believe that he's a clever actor, wooing the base before handing the spoils over to John.

McCain is getting a lot of free love from the MSM and jackasses like Micheal Medved, the RINO of the RADIO. There is a definite pattern of the libs and MSM and a few RINO's saying nothing bad about Huck or Mac because they are the ideal candidates for someone who only want's a RINO in office again.

How do you figure? To date, McCain gained from crossover voters then stalled in SC (in 00). I think he'll stall again n SC cause he hasn't convinced most evangelicals that he's for them.

Most of the latter States don't allow crossovers or unregistered to vote. I doubt McCain gains traction in places where only registered Repubs can vote and that's where the bulk of the delegates are. It's even questionable if he'll win his own home State.

I'm astonished by the way none of the talking heads will even mention his name. The McLaughlin Group today talked up South Carolina as a McCain / Huckabee race. It was frustrating.

If Gore had in fact been able to get the people of his own home state of Tennessee to vote for him in 2000, he would never have needed Florida's electoral votes. He also failed to win his boss's home state of Arkansas.

It is absolutely incredible that it is almost a year away from a presidential election, and for some reason so many supposedly conservative voters, people who purportedly think critically, have seemingly because of political pundits and news commentators, decided first that Senator Thompson was lazy, and upon this erroneous characterization being vitiated by his 50-city Iowa bus tour in 2-3 weeks, and better than predicted performance in Iowa, beating Senator McCain, not to mention his successful legal, polictical, and acting careers, that now, after his clearly winning debate performance in South Carolina, it is too late for his candidacy for... comment continues here:

Being a Southerner and winning in the South are not synonymous. I seem to remember Al Gore having some problems in Dixie. And I wouldn't look for John Edwards to exactly tear it up down South, either. But if Fred's the GOP nominee, I don't imagine he'll have much trouble winning Tennessee.

That's for sure! I saw him live when he was in one of Ringo's All-Starr Bands. That particular version was pretty good, as it also had Cream bassist Jack Bruce. When they started doing the old Cream stuff like "Sunshine of Your Love", Peter nailed every note perfectly.

These stupid MSM events mean nothing....repeat...nothing.

What is decided is not just decided by delagates at the convention. It's going to be decided just like many previous ones were. By the groundswell and wants of the American People.

But there is a truth in this early part of the race.

MONEY

Money is needed by Fred to saturate the airways with his ads and propaganda. If he is not heard and seen, Americans will not vote or scream for him. Remember, most Americans that have computers don't know how to use them for other than recipes, weather, sports and games. They rely on the TV and Radio for their news and political information.

So send a little money to Fred.
