LOL I have a new troll over at my site who declared this morning that KOS's plan worked and they "owned" us! Bet she didn't read these stats.

Congratulations. You know you've arrived when you have a troll.

Cap Ed: Strangely, McCain won pluralities among those who disapprove and strongly disapprove of the Iraq war.

HNAV:one of the aspects of McCain's win in NH, was a huge voting advantage of those who disapprove of the mission in Iraq.

This is interesting data. I've suspected for quite a while that the large swing in opinion against Iraq wasn't driven so much by those who wanted us out at any cost as those who were frustrated by the lack of apparent progress and what could be perceived as a too gentle approach. If this theory is correct, than it is likely the voting public desires a more Jacksonian than Wilsonian approach. The lack of clear front-runners in both races could well be that the voting public has yet to find a candidate that it both A) believes would be more Jacksonian and B) trusts to wield that kind of power.

I too think there are significant numbers in the Jacksonian approach. I for one, dislike the "1 arm & 1 leg tied behind our back" ROE.

    interesting insight CAPTAIN...

one of the aspects of McCain's win in NH, was a huge voting advantage of those who disapprove of the mission in Iraq.

perhaps all the demeaning of Sec. Rumsfeld, has worked to appease those who are against the mission, or are against the Bush Administration.

personally, i have never liked this effort by Senator McCain who comes close to taking responsibility for the Petraeus Plan, and shows a lack of responsible leadership by debasing someone else's effort for personal political gain.

either way, Romney continues to attract votes from mainstream Conservative Republicans...

i feel one of the aspects missing from the offering of Romney, which is essential, and different from other GOP Candidates, is his positive nature.

    Romney is upbeat and optimistic...

'CAN DO' goes a long way.

McCain continues to spit in the eyes of conservatives any chance he gets. The demographics speak for themselves, and McCain will eventually be handed his hat.
  • MrLynn · 1 year ago
Let's hope so. If he wins in SC, he will probably keep his hat.

Rudy is finished. So is McLame. McLame won't realize it until Florida. If Fred either wins in SC or comes in at a very close second, Huckabee is finished as well and Fred will snowball past Mitt on Super Tuesday.

Snooper, let's hope McBackstabber and Huckleby hit the roadside soon. I'm wishing I'd see a little more from Fred.

It shows that the Kos Kooks are all alligator mouth with a hummingbirds butt. Their voice is louder than their actual reach warrants.

We take it that the self-vaunted long-reaching "influence" of the moonbat KOSmonoffs isn't all that they hallucinate it to be...
  • davecatbone · 1 year ago
It's that the Libs don't like to get out of bed and go out into the snow to vote. Interesting, that.
  • essucht · 1 year ago
Come November, I predict that most Democrat voters, alive or not, citizen or not, will make it to the polls in Chicago, Philly, NYC, etc no matter the weather.

"Markos urged his readers to vote for Mitt Romney as a way to confuse the Republican primary race."

'Kos, we Republicans are quite capable of confusing ourselves without your help. Thank you very much.

My hope is that by super-dee dooper Tuesday McCain and Huckabee will be also-rans and we will finally have a fight among the real adults - Guiliani, Thompson, and Romney.

From your lips to the Almighty's ears. A little debate on the issues would go a long way towards rallying the base. We have been neglected so far in this sad media driven process. : ))
  • DaleWyckoff · 1 year ago
Not a surprise really. In 2000 Michigan Democrats had a caucus whereas the Republicans had a primary. As I recall, the unions were urging members to register Republican and vote for McCain. The crossover vote in 2000 was intended to undermine Bush not support McCain. Based on the exit polls, in the 2000 Michigan primary McCain received only 1 in 3 Republican votes.
  • lakeside · 1 year ago
I am so glad that McCain did not win Michigan, that his bid to attract "crossover" voters failed. MCain might be able to win primaries by getting Democrats and independents to vote for him but he cannot win the general election by doing so because most Democrats and independents are going to vote for the Democrat candidate in November. The only way that Republicans can win the Presidency this year is by running a conservative. They can't win if they run a moderate like McCain. It will be 1992 or 1996 all over again if that happens.
  • LFR_Gary · 1 year ago
As I said herer, McCain offered Michiganders nothing while Romney pandered for their votes. This win breathes new life into the Romney campaign. That said, it also gives Fred Thompson the opportunity to point out how Romney's plan is a 'Washington can fix everything' plan.

If Markos Moulitsas believe's his minons (of anti-war/anti-Bush "faction") can seriously sway the political vote in a state like Michigan where yes, people do work for a living------then I'm looking under my pillow (for money) for the tooth I lost last night spitting at my tv while watching the three stooges "debating" on who could withdraw our troops fast enough.
  • KauaiBoy1960 · 1 year ago
Just further proof of what a low life weasel markos/soros is and why there is no validity in their arguments as they can't win any debate on the facts but must resort to mere trickery.
  • JusticeLeague · 1 year ago
Kos and contributers never ask Democrats to vote for McCain ... they asked for them to Vote for Romney to keep the GOP ClusterF*ck alive.

    Get your facts straight!!!

What I don't understand is why the Dem establishment fears McCain so much. Yeah, he might pull some Indies, but half the Repub electorate would rather stay home and watch American Idol than go vote for him. The conservative vitriol for McCain is huge.
  • wystler · 1 year ago
trying to have it both ways, eh, Cap'n?

first draft, published, suggested loony libs were pushing a McCain x-over

but when you get called on it, and make an undocumented correction, you claim a x-over push for Romney had no impact, never mind that Mittster outperformed polling data

is this really your best work?
  • BurfordHolly · 1 year ago
That was just a head-fake. If Mittens had won by 1%, everyone would have blamed Markos.
  • always_right · 1 year ago
Congratulations. You have presented an 'argument' nobody can counter.

Did you have to work hard at it?
